Western medicine cures a specific focus found by medical examination through medication or surgical operation. It has made great contribution to the public.However, it has been divided into small divisions, for example, internal medicine has subdivided to respiratory, circulatory, psychosomatic, paediatric medicine and so on. Thus it tends to focus on data & disease itself rather than patients.

Oriental medicine aims to improve health from inside of body by enhancing natural healing power of human body. Its practice is mainly based on experiences from the past and therefore it lacks scientific proof and safety.

Chiropractic has both aspects of western & oriental medicine. Based on scientific examination and basic medical knowledge, it utilises manual therapy & physiotherapy if required to optimise natural healing power of human body and thus it achieves high level of efficacy and safety at the same time.
Chiropractic is practiced in more than 70 countries worldwide and is legislated in 34 countries such as U.S. Australia, England, Canada, France. There are about 200,000 ~ 30,000 people providing care using the name of Chiropractic in Japan, however only 600 ~ 700 among them have received WHO standard education and have proper degrees while others are part time school graduates. This is because Chiropractic has not been legislated by Japanese government yet and therefore anyone can open clinic using the name of Chiropractic in Japan without any degrees. Therefore you need to be careful which clinic to choose when looking for a proper chiropractor.
